A Brief History of the Area

Fairfax's community values the local history, and the city hosts guided tours every month to showcase the historic courthouse, brick farmhouses, old-fashioned estates, and other notable buildings.

First settled in the 1700s by migrating farmers, Fairfax contributed to the nation's history in the past in part due to its location within the Washington, DC area.
